Elma, NY Children's Dentistry
At Springbrook Family Dentistry, we know that the dental and emotional needs of young children are very different from those of adults. We respect your child’s unique personality, and our team has the compassion and experience necessary to provide your child with the gentle support they require to feel safe.
We're dedicated to the long-term oral health of your child. When they get involved and excited about caring for their teeth, they develop positive feelings that stay with them into adulthood. We'll treat your child with the same care and compassion that we would expect for our own children.
Preventive Services for Kids
We usually like to start seeing kids around age one for basic services like cleanings and exams. One of our most important jobs is to take early steps to prevent decay and teach you and your children how to keep their teeth cavity free for life.
Preventive services at Springbrook Family Dentistry include regular exams and cleanings, as well as application of sealants and topical fluoride as necessary. As parents, you also play a very important part in our preventive efforts. We’ll talk to you about the special things you can do at home to help. Your understanding, interest, and motivation will be a positive factor in reducing the risk of dental disease for your child.
We believe that, with parental help, dental disease is highly preventable. Preventing dental disease is less traumatic, less costly, and more rewarding for everyone – especially children.
Early Childhood Treatment
Taking steps to protect baby teeth is essential because they have an important job to do – they act as a placeholder so permanent teeth can erupt properly. It’s equally important to care for your older child’s permanent teeth so they can enjoy healthy teeth that last a lifetime. Whatever problems may occur, Dr. Finney will talk to you about your options and work with you to come up with a plan to restore your child’s oral health.
Even with proper hygiene and regular dental visits, things can go wrong as your child's dental development takes off. If they do, we’re here to gently treat the problems and work to prevent new ones from occurring. Our services for children include fillings, crowns, extractions, and endodontic treatment. At around age 7, we will also look for and identify any potential problems that would benefit from early orthodontic treatment. If we do find something of concern, we will refer you to an orthodontist for evaluation.
