What’s the difference between dentures and partials?

The difference between a conventional denture and a partial denture is a conventional one means all of your teeth are missing/will be removed and the denture will fit over the gums only. A partial denture uses your existing healthy teeth to hook onto to give your denture added stability. A partial is usually a better option if you still have strong, healthy teeth that can be used to support it. If none of the teeth are particularly strong it may make more sense to make a conventional denture.

Which Option Works For You

Which option is best for you is very individualized and will depend on many factors. We are always happy to provide consults if you think it may be time for either a denture or partial denture so we can point you in the right direction. The past few months have been challenging for everyone; we are looking forward to a return to a new type of normalcy. We have officially been given the green light to re-open, and plan to resume seeing patients on June 11th. While I have cherished the extra time with my husband and 9 month old, I have missed my patients and doing what I love each day.

Over the past three months, I have spent long hours researching how to best prepare our office for a safe reopening. My number one priority is ensuring the health and safety of our patients and staff. I’d like to share some of our strategies for keeping our office clean and safe for all.
